Documenting your wedding in a traditional style is a very important part of what we do at Ericson Photography. Steve Ericson creates beautiful traditional images, documenting the events of your wedding day in a very unobtrusive way. Well before your wedding ceremony, friends and family gather to prepare for the special day. At Ericson Photography, we love being able to photograph this time of anticipation, excitement and emotion. Our photojournalist captures many details of the getting ready process, but our traditional photography begins after our bride is full ready in her gown. Steve Ericson takes a few moments with our bride to photograph her in her gown, then traditional photographs are taken with her family, maid of honor, bridesmaids, and flower girl.
Traditional photography before the ceremony also includes the groom and his best man, groomsmen, and ring bearer. Ericson Photography will photograph the men before the ceremony in a classic style, then await the arrival of the bride.
Once the ceremony begins, our couples may not even notice that they are being photographed. Without interruption or posing, traditional photographs are taken of the bride as she walks down the aisle. Each key moment of the ceremony is photographed in this manner: unposed, unobtrusive, and traditional. These images include the vows, the exchanging of the rings, and the first kiss.
With the ceremony complete, photographs of the group formals begin. Ericson Photography will gently guide the group portrait time in an organized and time efficient way. When completed, the family and friends are free to go on to the reception site while the bride and groom spend a few moments for their formal photographs. With Steve Ericson's gentle guidance and calming personality, our couples can be at ease. These photographs tend to be our most popular and loved photographs, even to those couples who felt they did not want a lot of traditional images. Perhaps the "idea" of traditional images has some believing that it is not their style, yet time and time again we see that there is something about a gorgeous, formal and classic image that has couples so happy that we offer both traditional and photojournalistic photography combined.
At the wedding reception, traditional photographs of the toasts, first dance, and cake cutting are taken. Parent dances are also photographed in a traditional way. The reception is really time time Ericson Photography photographs invisibly. So many of our couples are surprised at the amount of photographs they receive because they tell us they did not even see us! Without interfering, the dance floor and tables are photographed, and any requested group photos are also taken at the reception.
With each wedding being so unique, this gives you a basic idea of how Ericson Photography's traditional photography takes place. Keep in mind, that during this entire day, the photojournalist is constantly creating images of the details and interactions taking place.

"Thank you so much for the wonderful photography you provided us on our wedding day! The photos are gorgegous and classic, and my whole family is pleased with all the group shots that are very special to my large family. We realized that we did not have many photographs of our family together, so your traditional photos are so important to us. Thank for everything!" ~ Amanda & Jeff |
